Contrary to its name, the White Russian has nothing to due with the country. The original cocktail the Black Russian was created by Gustave Tops, a Belgian bartender at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels. The addition of cream came from brand Southern Comfort in 1949 in a rendition of the recipe made for their short lived coffee liqueur. Our take on the White Russian introduces RumChata a Wisconsin creation inspired by a classic Spanish drink Horchata. This contradiction seems like the perfect compliment to the already confusing origins of this cocktail. RumChata adds a sweet cinnamon toast spice flavor that pairs well with the Kahlua coffee liqueur and toasted marshmallow and cereal notes from our flagship OOLA Vodka
